Dear Colleagues,

As you will have heard, a 48-hour strike has been announced for Greece next Wednesday and Thursday. This includes air traffic control as well, the most vital aspect for PPS delegates arriving in Greece, but will also involve other large areas of Greek society. As is stands now, on Monday 17, October at noon, this is the information that we have. The local organizers, the PPS committee, President, Treasurer and Secretary of PPS feel they cannot take the responsibility to have the PPS meeting in Athens.
Thus, we have taken the decision to cancel the Annual PPS Meeting in Athens.

We are currently in touch with the local organizers to see how we can limit the financial consequences of this decision to all involved. As soon as we have more details on that, we will inform you.

We are so far not considering holding the meeting at a later date in Athens, nor in another place. Thank you very much in advance for your understanding. We feel that under the current circumstances this is the least harmful decision that we could take for all involved. Despite this, our profound and thorough thanks go to the local organizers who have put so much work in this meeting, in vain as it looks now.

With best wishes,

Christina Vogt, President;
Ronald de Krijger, Hon. Secretary;
Marie-Anne Brundler, Treasurer;
Tania Konstantinidou, Local Organizer and
all PPS Committee Members
